Chronicle.... 3-4

Chapters three and four of Chronicle of a Death Foretold, where really confusing, while it somehow flowed it really confused me. The narrator talked about after the death of Santiago then he goes and talks about the morning that him and Santiago went out. The plot of the story seems kind of realistic, which is a good thing however it is really hard to follow because of the different views the reader gets. Another thing was it stuck to the death and plans to kill Santiago more than it talked about, why people did not want to save him.

The question of why the officer lets the Father perform the autopsy leave me to question how smart society is during the time. Is male dominance inferior to women dominance or are both the quality needed to run a utopia? If there is such a thing. The officer does not think about the back ground of the Father he does not have as much medical.

The aftermath of Santiago’s death also questions me; for example why was there still so much conflicts. Even the honor between a brother and sister is stronger than honor between a husband and wife because the wife would not marry Pablo if he had not killed Santiago. Was she feeling respect for soon to be sister in law? Or was she saving herself by not wanting to marry a man whom cannot stand up for his family? Was she testing him?
